I am a first-year CS Ph.D student, advised by Prof. Remco Chang in Visual Analytics Lab @ Tufts University (VALT). Prior to that, I received my Master degree in Computational Media and Arts from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and my Bachelor degree in Electronic Information Engineering from Chongqing University.
My research interests lie broadly in the intersections of Visualization (InfoVIS) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). I am focusing on using theory-based models and methods to decompose, evaluate and reasoning visualization design, which aim to build the theoretical foundation and provide innovative viewpoint for visualization design.
There are lots of definition of "what is visualization", my favorite one comes from the book Using Vision to Think, which defines InfoVIS as "the use of computer-supported, interactive, visual representations of abstract data to amplify cognition."
